Our Mission

1. The promotion of urban and rural regeneration for areas of social and economic deprivation. Particularly in Ferryhill and County Durham. We aim to do this through the following means: 

- Advancing education and training among unemployed people and providing them with work experience. 

- Providing public amenities as well as maintaining and improving these services.

- The promotion of public safety and the prevention of crime. 

2. To further or benefit the residents of Ferryhill and the surrounding area of County Durham without distinction of Sex, sexual orientation, race, religion or political beliefs by providing facilities in the interests of social welfare and social inclusion.

In accordance with this aim, the trustees have the authority to:

- Establish a community centre and to maintain, manage and co-operate with any statutory authority in maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects’. 

Nothing in our constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 or section 2 of the Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
